Chicken drumsticks with garlic, honey and smoked paprika sauce

Here is an easy chicken drumstick recipe that everyone will love. If you like your chicken drumsticks to be healthier, remove the fatty skin. Cooking chicken drumsticks with the skin seals in moisture and result is more juicy meat. But, removing the skin reduces the amount of fat consumed when eating drumsticks. If you like your drumsticks nice and crispy make sure you pat your chicken completely dry before seasoning it with salt and pepper. I have made these chicken drumsticks with skin and skinless, either way they are tasty, juicy and tender.

  • 10 chicken drumsticks
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) olive oil
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 3 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • salt and pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 220 C.
  2. Clean the drumsticks and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small pot heat the olive oil. Add the honey, garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper and the herbs. Cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Place the drumsticks in a baking dish. Pour the mixture over the drumsticks and make sure they are coated thoroughly with the sauce.
  5. Cook about 45 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. Serve with your favourite side dish and enjoy!
