Flourless chocolate chip chickpea blondies

Chickpeas in a dessert? Yes 🙂 it is not as weird combination as you might think. All these lovely ingredients-almond butter, chocolate, honey and chickpeas work really well together and tingle your tastebuds ;). Chickpeas give them lovely rich texture, plus protein and I think you will really enjoy them. These blondies are gluten free and dairy free, if you use dairy free chocolate chips. Almond butter can be pretty pricey to buy, so I would recommend to make your own. All you need is almonds and high speed  food processor. Process till turns into almond butter. If you want to make them dairy free use dairy free chopped chocolate or chocolate chips. What can be better than to have a healthy and tasty homemade dessert… 🙂


  • 1/2 cup sugar and salt free all natural almond or peanut butter (or homemade)
  • 1 can chickpeas, rinsed
  • 1/3 cup raw honey or any other liquid sweetener
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp soda
  • 100g about 1/2 cup chocolate chips (dairy free ones or chopped dark chocolate)

  1. Grease a square baking tray with coconut oil. Preheat oven to 350 F/177 C.
  2. In a food processor pulse chickpeas, almond butter, honey, vanilla bean paste, baking powder and soda until smooth.
  3. Fold in 1/3 cup of chocolate chips.
  4. Spread the butter on a baking tray and sprinkle with rest of the chocolate chips.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool before slicing and serving.
