Protein Waffles

I love protein and paleo waffles. My everyday breakfast is pretty much the same, eggs and vegetables and pancakes for weekends. From time to time I try to mix it up and make mug-cakes and waffles. I love keeping fit and exercising, so it is important for me to get enough protein from my food. There is so many great and delicious treats made with protein powder on web. I do not like to diet, so it is great to see that you can have a dessert without sabotaging  your healthy eating lifestyle. These protein waffles are made with protein powder. I used Gold Standard 100 % egg rich chocolate protein powder in this recipe. They are great to eat for breakfast, before workout or on the go. Take them to work with you and eat when hunger hits you 🙂 I used silicon waffle molds for making them. You place them into preheated oven and bake for about 5 to 8 minutes. You can use a waffle maker if you don’t have silicone molds. I love them because the waffle mix tends to stick to waffle iron, even if I use a coconut oil for greasing it, but with silicon molds there is no need to worry about that. There is no need for greasing and they don’t stick.

Makes 4 waffles

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 scoop protein powder of your choice
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 4 egg whites

Directions

  1. Process oats in a food processor till flour like.
  2. Add all other ingredients and process till mix is smooth.
  3. Pour mix into waffle molds (I used silicone waffle molds, for oven use). Cook about 5-8 minutes, depends are you using waffle iron or silicone molds.
  4. Serve with your favorite topping and enjoy 🙂
